JOHN WAYNE SMITH JR
TROOP 8 REPRESENTATIVE
On behalf of the Troop 8 representative, representing the members assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), with the West Virginia Troopers Association I would like to welcome you to the new website.
The 2020 year has proven to be a difficult year for all Law Enforcement across the State and has additionally proven to make it difficult for the Board of Directors with the West Virginia Troopers Association to come together and address the issues that face our membership.
We have been looking ahead and planning for the upcoming 2021 Legislative Session. At present we are working on various legislation items that will seek to make additional improvements to the Plan B retirement, increasing our pay and issues that have been identified as problems for members that become injured while working. We want to continue to work towards improving the benefits to our membership and make the West Virginia State Police the agency that all Law Enforcement Officer’s within West Virginia want to be part of. Feel free to contact me direct for specific details of each of the issues that we are working on. As the 2021 Legislative Session gets closer and we will have narrowed down the specifics with these issues I will continue to update you on the issues.
Be SAFE and continue the good work.
